On Wednesday, 13 January 2021, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Charalampos Lalousis, visited the 2nd Army Aviation Group and the Special Forces Training Centre.

During his visit, the Chief was given a tour of their facilities, briefed on the progress of works carried out, confirmed the high morale of the personnel, exchanged wishes with them, and thanked them for their work in 2020, recognising the 2nd and 4th Army Aviation Helicopter Battalions for their great social contribution in the areas of aeromedical evacuations and forest firefighting.

The Hellenic Army General Staff, within the framework of personnel welfare and the constant effort to improve the safety of Army personnel and personnel of all three Services serving in the Hellenic National Defence General Staff while commuting, procured the following vehicles to meet its own needs, as well as those of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff:

- Nineteen (19) 50-55 seat buses.

- Twenty (20) mini buses.

- Forty-five (45) all terrain surveillance vehicles (twin cab).

The vehicle procurement programme will continue in 2021.

On Wednesday, 30 December 2020, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Charalampos Lalousis, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Hellenic First Army/EU OHQ “AHILLEAS”, Lieutenant General Vasilios Papadopoulos, and the Commanding General of the I Infantry Division “SMYRNI”, Major General Konstantinos Gounaris, visited the Headquarters and Units of the 1st Army Aviation Brigade “KILKIS-LAHANAS”, the 32nd Marine Brigade “MORAVAS”, the XXIV Armoured Brigade “1o SYNTAGMA IPPIKOU – FLORINA”, and the 1st Raider – Parachutist Brigade “EL ALAMEIN”.


Within the framework of personnel welfare and the constant effort to upgrade and improve the infrastructure of the Army’s Military Education Institutions, the following projects were completed:
